Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Charlie’s Challenge Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure is available for students of Year 7 and it should unlock after reaching Chapter 47 of Year 7. Once you start the adventure, you have 1 day and 19 hours to complete it. This adventure has only one part.

During this adventure, you will help Charlie overcome a dangerous challenge to take physical measurements of a Hungarian Horntail.

Your first task involves attending the Care of Magical Creatures class, so go to the classroom when you are ready. Once you are there, you can check what other students have to say about their upcoming graduation. You will find out that the next class from Professor Kettleburn will be in the form of a free study period.

This session’s purpose will be for students to review everything they know about magical creatures, so they can prepare for an upcoming N.E.W.T. test. Charlie will share his excitement with you about graduating soon from Hogwarts.

Charlie will mention that he wants to become a dragonologist as quickly as possible. He will then ask you what you are most looking forward to after graduation. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick an option you like.

You will agree that there’s a lot to look forward to after graduation, but you’ll point out that you still need to pass the Care of Magical Creatures N.E.W.T.

Charlie will be very confident about this test and he will even wonder if he needs to bother with it since it is not a prerequisite for becoming a dragonologist. Professor Kettleburn will overhear Charlie and he will approach.

He will start giving you advice. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There is one bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize this action to save some energy.

The Professor will offer Weasely a challenge since he is so confident in his creature skill.

Charlie will accept the challenge and Professor Kettleburn will point out that this challenge is going to take Charlie’s magical creature skills to their very limit.

You will ask Professor Kettleburn if this challenge is dangerous, but he will ignore your question, which is rather odd.

Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready to continue the story. Once you are there, you will find Charlie practicing spells on training dummies. He will mention that he needs a training partner. You will ask him if this has anything to do with Professor Kettleburn’s challenge and he will confirm that it does.

He’ll tell you that he knows more information about the challenge, and he will point out that he may need your help as well, promising to tell you more once the training is over. He’ll want to practice Locomotor Mortis, the Leg-Locker Curse.

Charlie will say that you both need to hone your skills to succeed in an upcoming challenge. To complete the training with Charlie, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to complete this task.

Sadly, there is only one bonus progress action and it is tied to Charlie. Prioritize this action to save a bit of energy.

Charlie will reveal that the challenge is about subduing the dragon and measuring its physical parameters. Professor Kettleburn explained to him where to find a Welsh Green in the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary and he is already preparing a Portkey that will lead there.

You will remind Charlie that there is already a Welsh Green in the Magical Creature Reserve, but he will explain that they measure the physical parameters of those dragons all the time.

For this experiment, a wild dragon is needed. You’ll recall that most spells don’t work on dragons. Your friend will explain that the Leg-Locker Curse will work because it doesn’t need to penetrate the dragon hide to be effective.

But there would be no end to Charlie’s overconfidence and he will comment how this challenge is too easy. He’ll ask you if you agree with him. This choice will affect some future dialogue, but it won’t change the overall story, so feel free to choose what you prefer.

Charlie will point out that after graduation there will be no classes or tests or textbooks. The only way to improve will be to challenge yourself and that’s what he is about to do now, so he can be the best dragonologist.

You’ll ask him about his plan, but Charlie will admit that he still doesn’t have any, so he’ll need some more time to think.

He will invite you to go to the Artefact Room to share with you his plan. Go there when you are ready. Once you arrive, you will meet Charlie who will be very excited.

He will mention that he needs your help. You will have an impression that this will be something really dangerous. Charlie’s response won’t be very soothing.

To learn Charlie’s plan, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to complete this task.

The only bonus progress action is tied to Charlie. Prioritize this action to save some energy.

Charlie will tell you that he decided to catch a different, more fearsome type of dragon. The following lines may differ, based on your previous choice.

Charlie will inform you that he managed to locate a Hungarian Horntail. If you completed the “Adventures in Curse Breaking” you will have additional lines of dialogue.

The plan is to sneak into the dragon’s cave while it sleeps and cast a Leg-Locker Curse on it together while it sleeps. This way you’ll have enough time to study it in detail and return to Professor Kettleburn with a full report.

You will recall that the Hungarian Horntail is one of the most fearsome dragons in the whole world. Charlie will agree and that’s why he’ll think this is the perfect target. He will ask you for your opinion. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

You will agree to help your friend to make sure he won’t get roasted. Charlie will explain that this should impress Professor Kettleburn and that you’ll contribute to dragonology because Hungarian Horntails are difficult to study.

If you completed the “Adventures in Curse Breaking”, you will have a longer conversation with Charlie.

Charlie will say that once you record all the findings, you will undo the spell and escape.

Go to the Mountaintop Cave when you are ready. You and Charlie will enter the cave within the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary.

You’ll ask Charlie if he informed Professor Kettleburn what you are about to do. He will admit that he didn’t and that Professor still thinks that you are studying the Welsh Green.

If you completed the “Adventures in Curse Breaking”, you and Charlie will recall what happened the last time when you encountered this dragon.

Charlie was certain that the dragon is sleeping, but suddenly its mighty roar will echo throughout the cave.

According to your friend, the creature just woke up. Soon after, the dragon will appear.

Charlie will ask you if you should stick to the previous plan. This choice will affect some dialogue later but it won’t significantly influence the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

Luckily, the dragon won’t spot you, so Charlie will recognize this as an opportunity to cast the Locomotor Mortis on it. He’ll suggest observing the Horntail before making any moves. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. It is recommended to have a full energy bar before starting this task.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Charlie and Hungarian Horntail. Prioritize those actions to save some energy.

You will notice that the dragon is very nasty and in a foul mood. Charlie’s reaction will differ, based on your previous choice.

Shortly after, the dragon will spot you.

Charlie will tell you to run while he is keeping the dragon distracted. Unfortunately, the dragon will take Charlie off balance.

Charlie will succeed in distracting the dragon and you will quickly decide to cast the Locomotor Mortis on the Hungarian Horntail while you have the chance.

Fortunately, you will succeed.

Charlie will congratulate you on stopping the dragon. Moments later, he will take the measurements.

After he’s done, you will undo the spell and run away from the sanctuary.

Professor Kettleburn will call you to his classroom. Go there when you are ready. Once you are there, you will meet Charlie and you’ll find out that Professor summoned him as well. You’ll have a feeling that you might get into trouble.

You will ask Charlie if he still wishes to be a dragonologist. He will answer that he wishes for it even more than ever after he witnessed the true power of these majestic creatures. He’ll respect them even more.

Shortly after, Professor Kettleburn will arrive. He heard what you’ve done and he’ll demand an explanation.

The next task requires five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Make sure to have a full energy bar before starting this task.

Sadly, there are no actions with bonus progress for this task.

Professor Kettleburn will be furious because you exposed yourself to such danger. He will ask for your explanation. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like the most.

Charlie will try to protect you and he’ll tell Professor that this is all his fault. The following line will differ based on your choice earlier in the cave.

Although you successfully did the physical measurements of the Horntail, Professor Kettleburn will point out that he can’t condone such wildly irresponsible behavior.

Luckily, the Professor will think that you’ve learned the lesson, and Charlie will agree, explaining what he had learned.

Professor Kettleburn will hope that you will carry the spirit of this experience with you in the wizarding world because life will throw many unexpected challenges. But he will add one warning as well.

Lastly, he will suggest you return to your studies because the N.E.W.T.s are just around the corner.

Moments later, Charlie’s Challenge Adventure will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
