A two car collision near Barton-Le-clay closed the A6 Southbound for the second time this morning (Tuesday, November 1). Earlier, police shut the road near Clophill following an incident. The road was shut for multiple hours before reopening.
The road near Barton-le-Clay was then closed following an incident which took place between B655 Bedford Road and B655 Luton Road, at around 11.45am. This has now cleared and the road is reopen.
A spokesperson for Bedfordshire Police at the time said: "The #A6 is currently closed southbound at #Barton whilst we deal with a road traffic collision involving two vehicles. We would advise motorists to find an alternative route.

"Anyone with information can contact us on 101 quoting reference 166 of 1 November."
It's been reported that fire crews and paramedics are both in attendance on the scene. An air ambulance has also reportedly attended at the scene.

Air ambulance called to incident
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue have reported that an air ambulance is amongst crews responding to the incident which they were called to at 11.36am.
A spokesperson from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision between a car and an HGV on the A6 near Barton-Le-Clay which we were called to by Police at 11.36am. Fire appliances from Luton and Stopsley are in attendance, being supported by EEAST Ambulance, HEMS air ambulance, and Bedfordshire Police who are enforcing a full road closure which will be in place for most of the day."

Second incident on A6
A second incident has taken place. A two car collision near Barton-Le-clay has closed the A6 Southbound.
The incident, which took place between B655 Bedford Road and B655 Luton Road, was initially reported at around 11.45am. Police reported road as re-opened at 1207 but reported it as closed again at 1226.
The emergency services have been contacted for comment.

There is queuing traffic southbound on the A6, congestion is up to Haynes West End.
